Bahia El Oddi, 35 years old.
Hello!
My name is Bahia, I am 35 years old and live in Spain.
I struggled with anorexia for more than 10 years due to the lack of support and treatment in my home country, Spain. I have experienced loneliness, desperation, often feeling that nobody could understand me, or even see me.
It is only when I found a solid support group and an eating disorder coach that I started to resurface and to live instead of surviving. From my own painful experience, I know how difficult and hopeless the recovery journey can feel. I also believe in the deep growth that can come from it, and how worth it will feel in the end. I learnt a lot of helpful tools along the way, unlearnt and learnt a lot about myself, and discovered my real passion: helping others through coaching.
I have now been fully recovered for 8 years and trained as eating disorder coach. I worked with several specialist centres, supporting people struggling with eating disorders, and also extended support to their families. The privilege of engaging one-on-one with many individuals, aiding them in overcoming their eating disorders and emotional eating struggles, has been profoundly rewarding.
Using a combination of my training and personal experience I would love to support you in your journey, meeting you where you are, with the hope to bring some light and tips that will help you fight your eating disorder demons. I speak English, French, Spanish and Arabic.
Just sharing here one of my biggest learnings:
Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take a step!
Just remember that you are alone not in this. We, and I am here for you.
Sending much love,
Bahia
